NC rep ‘devastated’ by deaths of NASCAR driver Greg Biffle, family
Rep. Richard Hudson (R-N.C.) on Thursday mourned the loss of famed NASCAR driver Greg Biffle and his family after they died in a jet crash.
“I am devastated by the loss of Greg, Cristina, and their children, and my heart is with all who loved them,” Hudson wrote in a post on the social platform X.
They were friends who lived their lives focused on helping others. Greg was a great NASCAR champion who thrilled millions of fans. But he was an extraordinary person as well, and will be remembered for his service to others as much as for his fearlessness on the track,” he added.
The North Carolina lawmaker said Hudson flew “hundreds” of rescue missions in western North Carolina after Hurricane Helene, while his wife offered to support to victims of Hurricane Melissa, which struck Jamaica.
“That’s who the Biffles were. Our prayers are with their family, friends, and everyone grieving this unimaginable loss,” Hudson wrote in his post online.
Six people onboard a Cessna C550 business jet owned by Biffle were confirmed dead on Thursday, according to WSOC TV
